LIFEBOAT FETE - 2008

West quay / Huggetts Green - 5th July 2008

By Laurie Stonehouse

The 61st annual Lifeboat fete held along the West quay was a great day out for everyone. The French Lifeboat, "Charles Le Meur" from Le Havre made a special appearance and was moored up alongside our current Lifeboat for everyone to explore. The West Quay lawns featured a giant inflatable slide, a bouncy castle for the children, and further down the lawns, there was a  miniature train for people to ride.  There were various fundraising stalls, and informative stalls such as the Police, and Coastguard.  This year there was a special tour around the harbour in a boat, with all proceeds going to the RNLI.
