These photos have come into my possession recently.
Does anyone reconise them.

The party I think was taken on VE day in the old cement works at South Heighton.
Some of the people have been identified as Tucknotts, Butler, White.
Can anyone identify the location and the Event.

(The Event has been confirmed as VE day)

The second Photo I believe are the local Sea Cadets the location could be in Newhaven or Seaford Crouch playing fields.

When the event took place I don't know and I can't identify anyone either.
Maybe you can help ?

Two further Photos are of Newhaven local residents on a day out.

Someone may be able to put some names to the faces.

That is a big sea cadet band, close to 100 cadets which must help date it to the 50's or 60's. It may be an amalgamation of local units because in the 70's, when I was involved, we rarely had more than 20 cadets in the band.

Picture No. 3 - middle row 5th from the left is Alice Clark and behind her in the back row, 5th from the left is Fred Clark. To the left of Alice Clark is, I think, Min Commons. Fred and Alice lived at 127 Gibbon Road.

I have recently been informed that the 1st photo on this page may have been a Labour Club party, either just before or just after WW2 and not VE day as first thought.

In the third picture bottom row. Third from the left looks like John Sewell. He used to play the piano in the Crown, now an estate agents. 6th from the left in bottom row, looks like my late mother-in-law Mrs Laker who lived in Elphick Road.
