This month’s picture shows a photograph of the Brighton.
Brighton (VI) ran on the Newhaven-Dieppe service until 1965, when she was used for summer extras only, following the opening of the ro-ro berth at Newhaven in 1964. She was withdrawn the following year, the last traditional ferry on the Newhaven route, as larger new car ferries had entered service. Were you a crew member, or do you remember sailing on her?
