My first ever press cutting.

Sussex Express

This is a cutting from the Sussex Express from 1971, showing me at home at the Gulbransen Pacemaker organ my parents bought me. Local reporter David Clitheroe had set up an interview with BBC Radio Brighton and got the Express to cover it too.

They've somehow got my age wrong in the article, I was only 14 at the time, but I think I wasn't supposed to be playing/working in the hotel (which was licensed premises) at that age, hence the discrepancy.

The reason for the article was that I'd just been offered a job - in the future - with a large music company. I got it, too - but not until I was 20! I'd joked with my Dad and said that I'd pay him back for the organ when I turned pro. I did, but then managed to sell it on at a profit!
