21 years on and Paul is 2nd Coxswain, Ian is Coxswain, Lawrence (Lol) Phil, & Nick are still crew, and it's Rob (Robbie) not Robbin. Cheers, Chris and best wishes.  Even though I spent 10 years on the crew this is pretty much the only photo of me with my father on the boat. Maybe I was camera shy...he sure wasn't!

A mention should also be made of 2nd Coxswain 'Paddy' Boyle, and 2nd assistant mechanic Brian Ashdown who were both probably at sea fishing when this picture was taken and also crewman Rick Ward who was probably in the Seaford Legion.

Yes, happy days. Rob, you probably don't remember me, but I was the small lad from Birmingham who was always following your Dad around in the 1980's. I remember the day I helped your Dad, Paddy and you clean and antifoul the Louis Machesi's bottom round at Cantell's yard. It was great for me because it was the first ride I had on the Louis. You might remember that I ended up having many more Sunday morning rides on the Keith Anderson

Yes I do remember you Jonathan, when I left to join the Navy, you were pretty much conscripted by my father to do all the odd jobs and tea making when you were visiting.

Best Wishes

Good to hear from you Rob, yes, as well as showing me how to do a good job of polishing all things made of brass, your Dad did also teach me how to make a good cup of tea. I am in the process of trying to find some of my photos from that period, I'll post them on this site, with suitable comments when I can.
