We believe the team members are from left to right:-

Mr Avis, Norman Folwell, Jimmy Pointer, Nobby Richards, Keith Godfrey (GK), George Goldsmith, ??, Ted Moyle (receiving the cup) from unknown dignitary, John Hawkins, Dick Easton, Den Stevens, Punch Avis, John Avis (team Mascot).

I was an apprentice carpenter under Keith Godfrey, he taught me nearly everything I know or knew about carpentry. He was always telling us about his time on national service in Africa. He had a brother Brian who worked on the firm as a painter. He taught me to paint which has come in handy. John Avis was a lad I knew in Denton, he always was a good footballer.

Where was the football ground in Denton then? We moved to the village at about the time of this image but I don't remember a pitch.
