Invicta laid up at Newhaven

I wonder whether anyone might be able to assist with early 1946 images of the cross-channel vessel 'Invicta' (III). A photograph - believed to be it - is berthed next to the 'Canterbury' and this same view shows a number of Pullman cars in the foreground on Admiralty Pier, Dover - a press run of the inaugural 'Golden Arrow' purportedly taken in April 1946. Can anyone offer any substantive information?

Thanks

Some of the best places for info on non-Newhaven ferries (and indeed ours too!) are:

http://www.doverferryphotosforums.co.uk/

http://www.ferryfantastic.webs.com/

http://www.ferry-site.dk/

and

http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/

All should have sections for the Invicta, we only have photos of her when she was laid up here, such as the one that I've added to this page.

Question for Andy..

Can you throw any light on a Chief Engineer by the surname of "Stevenson" who served aboard the "Port of Brisbane" during WW2. His family were Newhaven fishermen!

Sorry Andy

The Stevenson family refers to "Newhaven" in Scotland! I would still like to know any history regarding "Port of Brisbane".

Regards

Ian.
