MEECHING ROAD

By John Hills

Meeching Road as it would have looked 100 years ago.

The first two pictures are dated pre August 1919, pictures 3 & 4 were taken after the Transport Memorial was erected in the August of 1919, to commemorate those men who lost their lives when they sailed from our port.

Newhaven being one of the south coast ports that much needed supplies were shipped from to support the troops fighting in France in the First World War.
