Transmanche Twins together at Newhaven

Not the best quality photo, I only had a small compact camera with me, but I wanted to capture something unusual.

This is one of the very few times that the twin ferries Cote d'Albatre and Seven Sisters have been together at Newhaven. It may well be the only time, I've certainly not seen it happen before.

I think what's happening here is that the Summer service of 3 sailings a day is dropping to the Winter service of just 2. The ferries are swapping over, with the ferry astern about to take up the Winter service, while the other goes to lay up for the time being.

Update:

It turns out that Seven Sisters suffered technical problems and had to be towed back down the quay to allow Cote d'Albatre to berth at the ramp.

Andy, are these going to be the vessels used on the 'new service' that was recently announced?

They belong to the route, so yes, they will be used when the route's owners take over the service from DFDS next year. Andy
