CONSERVATIVE CLUB

Snooker players - c1968

By Laurie Stonehouse

These photographs were taken at the Conservative Club and show some players and guests being presented with trophies, and metal tankards.  I believe John Spencer the professional snooker player, to be the player 2nd from right in the top photograph.  Was this a charity event, or, a special awards ceremony?  If anyone knows please add your comments.

Yes this is Rex Dunstall, not my relative but the other Dunstall family in Newhaven. I am son of Benjamin Thomas Dunstall. Regards Alan

Hi. Sorry, but the person second right is NOT John Spencer. I watched him all the time in those days in the local snooker hall, and later played 100's of frames with him when he opened his snooker club in Bolton. Hope this helps you. Bye

Could it be Peter Lewry second from right who also played football for Newhaven.  --- Editor
