A windy day

An unknown mail ship heads outward to Dieppe and it looks as if she could be in for a bumpy crossing. Unlike the ferries of today she would have left and arrived on time whatever the weather.

On the beach to the right of the breakwater can be seen the blue-boulder pickers cart and the rail tracks on which it ran.

I would think possibly the late 1920`s. Colin.

Back in the late 50's and early 60's I used to fish from the jetty. I would hear the wave thump against the wall and we would run back into the cover as the salt water poured over the top. It made for exciting fishing. Peter
