TEA BREAK FOR SOME OF THE CREW OF THE "LONDRES"

c1965

By Laurie Stonehouse

The photograph shows some crew members of the "Londres" playing cards while having a tea break. Bob Stonehouse, pictured at the back under the clock, was employed as an engineer on the Meeching Tug 1961-1968. On a number of occasions he was required to work the occasional shift aboard the Londres, I assume as an engineer. Can anyone name the other crew in the picture?

This was taken before the end of september 1963, as this was her final year on the Newhaven/Dieppe service.  Left to right in the photo are Ernie Simmons/greaser, Reg Beeching/asst steward, Bob Stonehouse/fourth enginner, ken Bastin/greaser, Bob Moore/asst steward, last one unknown summer hand.
