Picture of Captain and crew of SS Brighton after sea rescue 1954
Sea Rescue 1954
I feel it is only proper that I tell the story. We were about 30mins out of Dieppe, I was on duty aft, manning the ensign, when a passenger jumped overboard from the boat deck. I raised the alarm and we rescused the passenger in a record 10 minutes, quite a feat especially as we were at full speed of 24knots.
Hello Tony. Nice to see those faces in the picture. Wonder if you would remember my family who also sailed on the Brighton and the Londres. Mary (stewardess) Jim (AB) and myself Bill (Fireman)
