WEST QUAY - 1982
Huggett's Field
By Laurie Stonehouse
The following photographs show a somewhat flooded Huggett's field, in the first picture one of the old RAF huts can be seen with someone's marooned pony, who would have thought that one day this area would be transformed into todays West Quay development, the next two photo's are views across Huggett's Field from Fort Road, I would assume that there had recently been a spring tide, but if my memory serves me right this area always looked flooded and tinged with stagnent water, beyond the flooded area would be the rear of the various units along the quay including the Fishermans Club and the Fish and Flake Society to name but a few.
