This shot was taken by my father. There is a similar view, taken in the thirties, on this website. Some of the houses in Sefton Terrace look derelict in this view. The motor barge moored by the island is named 'Soton'.

My father (Richard Beal) was born in Sefton Terrace in July 1926. People born on the island were said to have webbed feet, but he never learned to swim!
