RECREATION PARK - FORT ROAD - 1982 / 1995

Floods

The first three pictures show the park at Fort Road flooded in 1982. This was due to very high spring tides which used to spill over near the boat yard behind the Coral Stores. The final photograph was taken in 1995 which was the last time that the park was overcome by salt water because the following year the road was raised outside Russell Simpsons. A rather pleasant mound to drive over which seems to have cured the problem of the river water invading the park.
