CHILDREN'S CARNIVAL BROCHURE

Hi, I was on the committee for the childrens carnival and it was my job to walk around Newhaven & Peacehaven asking companies to place adverts; I think I was asking £10.00 per advert and £25.00 for the front page. If my memory serves me right, the brochure was printed by Welch and Sons in Peacehaven. Grays Nursery school provided their play ground to decorate the floats, Webbs provided the driver for the floats. I think the drivers name was Pat Gent from Peacehaven. I have many photos and will sort some out.

Hello, In my excitement at logging onto this site I did not give myself enough time to get my facts straight. I think the year was 1986 but the brochure was produced by Bridge Press in Robinson Road Newhaven and not Welch & Sons. I can remember walking around to the press yard and that Grays Nursery won the cup for the best float which was presented to me by the mayor. After the carnival the children returned to Grays Nursery and had a picnic. The head teacher then was Mrs Kate Davis.

Oops 1988 sorry everyone, its clearly printed on the brochure. I know many of the advertisers are still in business. Martin Hunter is now in Seaford, Landscapers, Toppers, Horaces, Swifts all still working, Peter Clark the butchers retired. Oasis, Ace of Spades and I think Bills Taxis no longer Exist. I think JBM tool Hire is still in Newhaven. So thank you to all of you once again. Karen Mayo
