This is a picture of Arthur Cox, a local fisherman and net braider, depicted here mending his nets. I took this in 1987 and was the beginning of my photographic interest.

This was taken on the West Quay in Newhaven.

Arthur was a retired Army officer, a very learned man, he had a beautiful boat named "Artificer". Arthur could not resist catching the "shiny" ones.
