Friday 23 November 2007 - Swingtime Sweethearts

What a lovely afternoon's entertainment. Both young and old enjoyed listening and singing along to the Wartime songs, followed by tea, sandwiches and cakes.

Around 30 children came along from Southdown Junior School and treated the audience to their rendition of  'Run Rabbit Run'.  They had also baked some rabbit shaped biscuits to share.

Also Jackie, Ginny and myself listened to peoples memories of Newhaven and scanned photographs to publish on 'Our Newhaven' website.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

The event was organised by WRVS Heritage Plus in partnership with Our Newhaven, Newhaven Strategic Network & Newhaven Development Association.

We have just viewed your website, and love the article about the WRVS event, the pictures look great. We had a lovely afternoon in Newhaven and really enjoyed speaking to so many lovely people about their memories of the war years.

We're so glad they all enjoyed the singalong, and hope the children had fun too!!
