Can anyone give define which part of the Church is actually the oldest, as I know that there have been additions to it over the centuries. I am thinking that the main nave and square tower are  original. Also, is there any documented evidence that there was an existing church on this site prior to the Norman one - as those at Piddinghoe or a number of the other sussex villages?
