By Jim Still
This is the occassion when a fishing boat sank at her moorings near the Ark Inn Newhaven. Meeching used her lifeboat davits to support the craft during the pumping out process. Early 60's pic.
Left to right: The white arm is that of Bob Patterson the Tug Engineer. Hanging over the side is Steve Payne, leaning over the side is Charlie Stone, next to Charlie is Jim Still, then low down over the side is my Brother George Still, peaked cap left is Capt. "Paddy" Pringle, then the Mate "Jock Still" and just exited the door is Bob Martin the Harbour works manager.
