Fancy Dress competition

These photos were taken on Coronation Day 1953 of our then 5 year old son Billy Shepherdson when Mrs. Stan Bennett presented him with the 1st. prize in the Junior Fancy Dress Competition, part of the celebrations that day organised by the Newhaven Carnival Soc. He went as the British Mount Everest Expedition which had reached the summit that day.

We moved to Melbourne, Australia in 1956 but enjoy keeping in touch through the Our Newhaven Website.
