Sorry John but the Cecil & Lillian Philpot left Newhaven in 1959

Thank you Colin, It has been very differcult to put an exact date on these undated slides, so this must be one of the last pictures taken of the Cecil & Lillian Philpot leaving Newhaven harbour, on service and taken in late 1958/59.

I think 1959 was in the late 1950's....

Looks like there are only 4 'crew' onboard, and not dressed to go to sea in anger so maybe this is her leaving the station for the last time and heading for depot and reserve in Poole, especially as they haven't bothered putting up the mast yet which can been seen behind the beige exhaust 'funnel'.

Thanks for your observations Rob, my late brother Martin is standing at the stern with father Harold Hills fourth from the stern, is that a fifth crew member at the bow? So indeed it looks like her last journey out of the harbour.
