The morning after the storm of '87 myself and other Telecom workers (Brian Sims, Gerry Foord, Dave Riggs) were sent to repair the line that fed the radio antenna, which ran on poles from Court Farm Road all the way up to the lookout. All the glass in the windows had been blown in and because the wind was still blowing it was causing a vacuum in the tower itself preventing us opening the door at the bottom. I think it finally took three of us combined before we managed to get in.
