DANCING DISPLAY IN THE 1950s

Jill Bone (nee Player) has provided Our Newhaven with a photo and programme from a dancing display performed by the pupils of Mrs Legg. It's always wonderful when we can put a precise date on things and the programme lets us do just that. Wednesday 7th June, 1950.

Does anyone else remember the display, or Mrs Legg. Were you one of her dance pupils?

Heather Strudwick is standing first left in the back row. Sadly she passed away October 2015.

What a lovely picture, Colin. I remember Heather well and am sad to hear of her passing. She was a little older than me but I used to walk up Railway Road to the station with her  nearly every day to get the train for school.

Really nice to see the 1950 concert programme. My aunt is Josephine Simmons who played the piano. She is now 91 and living happily In Telscombe Cliffs.

Does any body have similar photos of dance concerts from Jean Cantrell or Barbara Lynchs dance schools.
