Courtesy of our 'sister' site at Pevensey Bay - www.pevenseybay.org.uk - which has quite a section on Newhaven Harbour, here are three ships that will be very familiar to many Newhaven residents.
Brighton (VI) - 1950, our last British passenger steamer. Perhaps the most handsome of all of them? Seen herelaid up at the Railway Quay at the end of the 1966 season.

Valencay (1965) One of the 'V' boats that served the line well for many years

Senlac (1973) looking very smart, probably having just returned from her refit and repaint, ready for the new season.
