Before the new houses

Numbers 1-7 of Elm court were built around 1968, during the 1980's the rest of Elm court was built,bringing an end to the chicken farm and the gardens that extended upto Brighton Road. Valley dean soon followed.With more houses built at Chestnut way during the 1990's the valley area is now almost full.

I used to live a few doors along from you at No.3!

When Elm Court was built in 1968, my Dad, who was on the town council, was 'promised' that they would never build on this stretch of ground. Some promise!

Used to play footie, tennis etc out there most days in the summer.
