In the second photo, the cottages with the small dormer windows, are reputed to be some of Newhaven's oldest and were, I think, called Court Farm Cottages. In the left hand cottage, while I was still at school, lived an elderly gentleman called "Nobby" Ansel and he kept lots of rabbits. Many youngsters including myself used to buy from him at six "old" pence a rabbit. He worked for farmer Bowles and lived to good age. Now, going back to the photo, whatever is that patch of white on left hand cottage, not I hope an attempt at "rendering".
