Meeching Tug

By Jim Still

Picture of Meeching high and dry on the groyne at Ostend, an unfortunate incident during the attempted refloating of a floating dry dock which went aground during a voyage from Dartmouth to Flushing.

The other picture is taken alongside the Dry Dock on Ostend beach showing Jock Still (Mate) with spade with Alec Pringle (Captain) looking on.

The third picture is of Jock Still (Mate) again but this time onboard the Foremost 22 before the days of Meeching.  This picture was taken a couple of months after the "Germania" job under the cliffs at Beachy Head.   Germania had run aground there and Foremost 22 assisted with the refloating operation with other tugs.
