The Tidworth returns passing the Lisieux with an empty mud barge for the dredger Testside.
Colin Holden
A close sister to 'Lisieux' was 'Cote d' Azur'. Very similar to our mail vessel shown in this picture, the 'Cote d' Azur' served the Dover/Folkestone to Calais/Boulogne service which operated the 'Golden Arrow' boat train service. Both ships were built by F & C de la Mediterranee at Le Havre. I think both were sold out of the English channel service and ended life in Greek waters.
You're quite right, Chris. I will post a page showing the comparison between some Newhaven and Dover ships.
