DORA RIPARIA
An unusual visitor

Following my comment on the recovery of the lifeboat Good Hope, in the lifeboats section, here's a photo of the car carrier in question, the Italian Dora Riparia. The work pontoon Barrowhead can be seen at the stern, providing the connection between ship and shore ramps.
The date is some time after 1976, that's the year she was launched. There was no date on the photo. Dora Riparia isn't the biggest ship to use the ramp, but seems to be the longest at 148m, that's 1m longer than the Dieppe.
