Charlie Evans only played for Eastside Rovers so it must be Eastside Rovers v Peacehaven or maybe Telscombe Cliffs - not sure which, perhaps somebody out there knows.
It is almost certainly Peacehaven as the chap right in the middle of the photo doing the Denis Compton impression is my Uncle Fred (Taffy) Davis who played for Peacehaven about that time. Before the war he actually got capped at schoolboy level for Wales.
Hi Ernie You must be my cousin, as Fred Davies is also my uncle, and that is certainly who it is. He was married to Dorothy Robinson, sister of your father (Hubert). Hope all things are well with you. Regards Graham
