Preview evening of Community Play facilitated by Act On It

Here are some photographs taken during the 'Preview' evening of 'Our Newhaven Community stories, prior to its live performance at Newhaven Fort on Good Friday - March 21 2008.

The play was based on conversations Act on It had with different residents in Newhaven spanning the last 80 years. The play took the form of an old man recalling past events such as the jumping of the rope that traditionally took place on Good Friday (which we tried again at the Fort!) to boost a good fishing season; and putting out the fire in the town with buckets to memories of old shops here in the 1950s and 1960s, childhood games and playing in the disused fort.

Participants in the play came from the Rock Solid Crew and local schools.
