Class 1 in 1955

A picture of a first year class of the Newhaven Infant School in 1955, do you remember having to go to sleep on the camp beds, in the afternoon, in one of the classrooms, with the black curtains drawn ! Mine was the bed with a Squirrel embroidered on blanket !

Ian Bishop is the boy 3rd from left back row... and the girl 2nd from left in the middle row we think was called Margaret.  Do you remember her or anyone else in the picture....

These two Ian & " Margaret " can be seen 6 years later collecting the autograph of Russ Conway at the Newhaven Boys Club Fete, in August 1961, the picture is on this website at:-  http://www.ournewhaven.org.uk/page.aspx?id=512

Middle row, left, is Kathie Bates and fifth from left is Peter Jarvis, next to him on right is Margaret Ingram?.
Front row (chairs) left is ? Franklin and fifth from left is Jennifer Metcalfe.

I think the class teacher was Mrs. Headen (not sure about about the spelling.) I was in her class a couple of years later.

Front row far left (sitting) is me, Brian Henderson, and I think the boy in the front row left (chairs) is David Frankyn.

Yes that is me, Margaret Ingram, next to Peter Jarvis. I think the girl 2nd left in the middle row is Gwendoline Davis.
