CONVENT - CHURCH HILL
French Convent 1920 - 2008
By Laurie Stonehouse
The first photograph is of a nursery group from 1942. My aunt, Vickey Delaney, tells me that children in the town would have come here to be looked after during the day, so that the parents could do work for the war effort. I'm sure that there is more information about this picture, please add your comments.
The next batch of pictures are old postcards showing the convent probably during the 1920's, with one postcard of the Nuns. It looks like they are playing some kind of sports game.
Lastly some pictures from 2008 for the people that live away from Newhaven.
