Re: ss newhaven 1875-1897

I thought that finding a photo of this vessel would be easy! Alas, Newhaven II was not one of the passenger steamers, but a cargo ship, known locally as a 'Dieppe Screw' - the small cargo ships were the first on the Newhaven-Dieppe route to switch from paddles to screw propellers and the name stuck until the last of them was retired in 1966! There are no photos of the ship on Our Newhaven.

However, I have located one photo, from the book about Newhaven-Dieppe written by my friend, the late Peter Bailey. I can't add it to a message, but if you email me at info@ournewhaven.org.uk I can send it to you. I know Peter Bailey wouldn't have minded me sharing it!
