A colour transparency of the SNCF ferry taken by my father in about 1956.
Super colour photo of a very fine looking ship. Built for speed, and she could manage 25 1/2 knots with ease.
Looking more closely, the forward windows on the main deck have shutters in place, there's a canvas cover on part of the boat deck, and those flags are really flying in the breeze. So this is not a summertime photo! And those passengers lining the balcony will be heading back inside swiftly, just as soon as Lisieux rounds the breakwater for what will be a lively trip!
