NEWHAVEN TOWN STATION SIGNALBOX - R.I.P

1879 - 2020

Newhaven Town Station's iconic signalbox was demolished on the evening of the 20th June 2020, after a lifespan of an amazing 141 years. A Newhaven landmark, it's something that I can remember seeing all my life.

It's believed that some of the equipment in the signalbox was taken up for re-use at the Bluebell Railway.

The full history of the signalbox is already available on this excellent Our Newhaven page from Luke Arnold.

What a great shame, yet another bit of Newhaven's history gone.
