Paul and Jill Green / hobbiesphotographic.co.uk

I'm indebted to Paul and Jill Green of www.hobbiesphotographic.co.uk for permission to publish this excellent photo of the Meeching.

She's seen entering the harbour in the late 1980's and skipper Bob Domin is at the wheel, nothing unusual in that, but just look at all that shiny paint! I'd guess that she's fresh back from her by then bi-annual refit.

I think this is one of the smartest photos I've seen of her.

I would be most grateful to obtain a copy of this photo for John Voakes

(my brother-in-law) who has terminal cancer. Can this be arranged?

I will ask if this could be possible for you Ian.

John --  editor

The owners of the photo have said yes, so I'll print one out and we'll get it to you to give to John - Andy, Editor

Many thanks to John and Andy for arranging a "framed" photo of the Meeching. John Voakes was overwhelmed!

I went to school with John, I havn't seen him since I left 58 years ago. Give him my best wishes. There is a good photo of him on the Meeching Junior School section of the website.

Terry, it is with great sadness that John passed away peacefully on Sunday the 8th of December. He did remember you!

We are sorry to hear your sad news.

Sorry to hear of John's death Ian. I have lost a few birdwatching and cricketing friends this year to cancer, horrible disease. Thinking of you all at this time.
