The Rampion wind farm, commissioned in 2018, is located between Worthing to the west and Newhaven and Seaford in the east. The farm is between 8 and 16 miles from the shore and covers an area of 27.8 sq. miles.
The maintenance base for the wind farm is located on the East Quay and houses the 60 strong Rampion team and incorporates offices and welfare facilities. It also houses an industrial warehouse the storage of spare parts and other equipment used for the maintenance of the wind farm.
The wind farm is named after the round-headed rampion (also known as the Pride of Sussex) which is the county flower of Sussex
Rampion have paid for a new telescope to be installed at Castle Hill as a gift to the people of Newhaven so they are able to view the comings and goings at the wind farm.
